You kids will never appreciate this, but there was a time when Eddie Murphy was the best fucking comic ever.  We listened to Delirious and Raw on the back of the bus every single day on the way to school, and memorized the bits with careful attention to the swears and cadence.  I am so excited about him hosting The Oscars.  I hope, more than anything, that he’s just as funny and raw and quick as I remember him to be on a cassette tape that I played until it broke.
